Letter From Provost: February 13, 2021

Dear U of A Faculty:

As we brace for the possibility of more inclement weather over the next week, I would like to share guidance for how to handle potential class cancellations if travel conditions require delayed starts, early dismissals or closure of campus operations.

Weather-related class cancellations are intended to impact face-to-face classes held on campus, while hybrid and remote classes may be held virtually. However, I do understand that some instructors conduct hybrid and remote classes from locations on campus. With this and other factors in mind, hybrid and remote classes should continue at the discretion of instructors.

A recent update from Human Resources provides additional general information for employees regarding inclement weather situations.

I encourage you to share assignments now and keep your students in the loop regarding your plans should we get another dose of wintry weather.

Stay warm, stay safe and please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Charles F. Robinson

Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs

Professor of History
