The International Educational Advisory Council (IEAC) is responsible for recommending to the provost academic policy for all education abroad activities. It also reviews (or assigns to an appointed sub-committee) “Petitions for Exception to Overseas Travel Warning Policy” and makes recommendations to the dean of Graduate School and International Education (refer to Academic Policy 1835.00)
The IEAC is chaired by the associate dean for international education and coordinated by the director of the Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange. The dean of each college will recommend one member to the committee; five Faculty at Large are nominated by the Committee on Committees, and one representative from the Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange is nominated by the dean of the Graduate School and International Education. The committee will meet monthly and be empowered to review and approve all proposals for programs involving university students, staff or faculty traveling outside of the United States.
